Job Summary and Description:
Distribution utilities across the globe are undergoing efforts related to grid modernization, electrification, and DER integration which represents a significant transformation of the distribution system. The modernization of distribution planning in particular plays a critical role in ensuring a successful transition to the future with improved reliability, resilience, and resource utilization.
The EPRI Distribution Operations and Planning team leads research to advance the processes, tools, technology and workforce required for a modern distribution system. The research program is broad, with researchers working on topics across planning, operations, protection, and analytics.

We are looking for energetic engineers, consulting engineers or analysts with experience in Load and DER Forecasting for Distribution Planning. Specifically, EPRI values technical expertise and applied knowledge in:
- Experience with development of medium-term (1 to 10 years and/or long-term (over 10 years) load and DER forecasts forecasts in utility distribution planning studies
- Experience with applying and integrating planning forecasts in annual, long-term strategic, and/or integrated distribution planning studies
- Development or application of software tools for distribution planning forecasts
- Methods and data to develop granular load and DER forecasts for distribution (propensity modeling, adoption, etc.).
- Experience aligning planning forecasts developed at different system levels (transmission system, service territory wide, planning area, substation/feeder, customer, etc.)
- Distribution planning procedures and practices
- Developing methods to leverage new data to improve planning load and DER forecasts
- Weather normalization procedures and practices

The salary range for this position is $100,150 USD to $135,450 USD annually.
This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.
This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
